Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Press Glass, the largest independent flat glass processing operation in Europe, will invest $43.55 million to establish a 280,000-square-foot manufacturing operation in Henry County. Press Glass represents the first company to locate in the county’s Commonwealth Crossing Industrial Park.

Virginia Mirror announces Expansion

Longtime local manufacturers Virginia Mirror Company and Virginia Glass Products are investing $3.8 million in new equipment and adding 9 jobs at their Martinsville and Henry County sites.

The companies announced their modernization plans at the City of Martinsville’s Council meeting on March 13, 2018.

Virginia Mirror was founded in Martinsville in 1913 and Virginia Glass Products was started in 1956. Together, the companies currently have 165 employees. Virginia Mirror and Virginia Glass Products offer a wide array of glass products including all glass entrances, mirrors, custom tempering, frameless shower enclosures, and custom laminated products.

Eastman to Add Equipment Line

Governor Terry McAuliffe today announced that Eastman Chemical Company, a global advanced materials and specialty additives company, will invest $11.7 million to expand its manufacturing operation in Henry County. The company will add a new equipment line within its Performance Films business, which will provide additional capacity in growing the global market for paint protection and window film sold under Eastman’s portfolio of brands.
