Food-based businesses are an increasingly popular field. However, starting this type of business requires more than a great knack for cooking. Rules and regulations for operating these businesses are very specific and can sometimes seem overwhelming. Knowing what is expected upfront can help avoid pitfalls later.

Kristen Gentry (Virginia Department of Health) will go over the basic inspection process and guidelines that restaurants must adhere to in order to operate.
