Governor McAuliffe Announces 15 New Jobs in Henry County
~Alcoa to invest over $8 million to expand its aerospace forging capabilities ~
RICHMOND – Governor Terry McAuliffe announced today that lightweight metals leader Alcoa will invest more than $8 million to expand its aerospace forging capabilities at its Alcoa Titanium & Engineered Products manufacturing operation in Henry County. The investment will add a new grinder and two new forge furnaces, doubling the facility’s forging capacity and creating 15 new jobs paying above the average prevailing wage in the region. Alcoa expects to complete the expansion by the end of this year.
“Alcoa has been a global leader in lightweight metals technology, engineering and manufacturing for more than 125 years, and maintains a significant corporate presence across the Commonwealth,” Governor McAuliffe said. This project represents the third manufacturing expansion in Henry County in 2016, a coup for the Commonwealth’s business resources and unmatched infrastructure that puts us ahead of the competition. Advanced manufacturing continues to soar across Virginia, and when corporations such as Alcoa continue to invest in the Commonwealth, it is further evidence of our success in building a new Virginia economy.”
