      Training to be offered on obtaining contracts with state-run agencies

Martinsville, VA (July 26, 2013) - The Martinsville-Henry County Economic Development Corporation's Small, Minority & Entrepreneurial Division will host a free training session on how to use eVA, the Commonwealth of Virginia's e-procurement system. The training will be held from 9:00AM to 11:30AM on Thursday, August 8th at New College Institute.

The Commonwealth purchases almost $8 billion in goods and services annually, with a 40% spending goal with certified small businesses. Tammy Farmer of the Virginia Department of Business Assistance will offer hands-on assistance in a computer lab setting for businesses to create or update existing accounts and will explain how to view, interpret and respond to bidding opportunities using the eVA system.

This workshop would be extremely beneficial to anyone wanting to obtain contracts for providing goods or services to any state-run agency in Virginia.
