EDC launches PR Campaign
~ Organization will highlight existing industry ~
Martinsville, VA (July 27, 2006) – The Martinsville-Henry County Economic Development Corporation announced today that it is launching a public relations campaign centered around local existing industry.
Developed by Roanoke based Anstey-Hodge Advertising Group, the message is simple. “BUSINESS WORKS HERE.”
“Our goal was to create an eye-catching campaign with a simple, straightforward message,” says John Anstey, president of Anstey Hodge Advertising Group. “Each billboard prominently displays the good work that local companies are doing and lets people know that these companies are ‘working here.’ This campaign also highlights that Martinsville Henry County Economic Development recognizes the importance of growing businesses that are already located in the community.”
The campaign, which will run through June 2007, will feature a different local company each month. Billboards, print ads and press releases telling the featured company’s story will spread this message throughout the year.
“We have so many wonderful companies here – it’s been difficult to choose the ones to highlight. We hope we have selected a good mix of new industry as well as established industry, large companies and small. If the campaign is successful, we will continue it into future years,” remarks Crystal France, Director of Marketing/PR.
“All successful economic development programs begin with existing industry,” states Mark Heath, President/CEO. “We must be mindful that our existing companies are other community’s targets for new companies and do what we can to ensure they stay and thrive.”
This is the first time the Economic Development Corporation has launched a local public relations campaign.
The Mission of the Martinsville-Henry County Economic Development Corporation is to create new job opportunities and expand the tax base for the area. The organization strives to support and develop local industry, as well as market Martinsville-Henry County globally as an exceptional place to live, work and play.
