“One Tank Trips” to Showcase Martinsville-Henry County Attractions
Martinsville, VA (July 24, 2008) ABC’s Channel 13 News out of Lynchburg will highlight the Martinsville-Henry County community on Friday night’s “One Tank Trips” segment. “One Tank Trips” is a program the news channel created to showcase assets residents of Southside can enjoy without using more than a tank of gas.
“With gas prices almost $4 per gallon, we wanted to let our viewers know what exciting attractions are within a tank of gas of their home” explains Margaret Clevenstine, a news anchor with Channel 13. “Martinsville-Henry County has many unique assets and this segment will highlight the Virginia Museum of Natural History, Southern Virginia Artisan Center and the Clubhouse Resort in Fieldale. We are excited to let the viewing audience know about these three destinations located in your community.”
Felicia Rupert, Tourism Associate for the Martinsville-Henry County Economic Development Corporation, “is excited Channel 13 chose Martinsville-Henry County as one of their communities for the ‘One Tank Trips’ segment and believes this will give awareness to a regional audience that may not have otherwise been exposed to these attractions. I hope to see an increase from regional visitors in the coming weeks.”
You can view the segment Friday, July 25th during the 7:00 p.m. news hour.
